What we collect
When you book an appointment, send us a message, or sign up for updates, we collect the personal information you provide (name, email, phone, treatment preferences, message content). For contact-form messages, we collect only what you submit. For bookings, the booking platform we use (Fresha or similar) has its own privacy policy — please review it before booking.
Why we collect it
To reply to enquiries, confirm and remind you of appointments, send you studio updates you have asked for, and meet our Canadian legal obligations (tax, health-and-safety records).
CASL compliance
We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. We only send marketing email when you have given us explicit consent (e.g. ticking a box at booking). Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and we honour unsubscribe requests within 10 business days as required by CASL. Service-related transactional messages (booking confirmations, appointment reminders, aftercare) are not marketing and do not require opt-in.
Cookies & analytics
This site uses a minimal cookie footprint — only the functional/required cookies set by the Next.js runtime. Optional analytics (e.g. Vercel Web Analytics) are anonymous, cookie-less, and only added with your consent once we activate them.
Data retention
We keep client records (appointment history, contact info, intake forms) for a minimum of 7 years for tax / liability purposes. Marketing-list subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Inquiries you have not acted on are deleted after 18 months.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it (subject to the retention requirements above). Contact hello@maisonlumiere.ca and we'll respond within 30 days.
Updates
We update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be announced by email if you are on our list, or by a banner on this page.
